This juried exhibition of paintings and mixed media work is a selection from members of Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA)’s Artist Alliance, featuring the vibrant and dynamic intensity of pure pigment, lively and luminous in a variety of hues, tints, and shades. Hundreds of submissions from all over Southern California were juried by OMA’s Executive Director Maria Mingalone to represent the diverse and multidimensional artists of this OMA membership affiliate group, which has grown over the past 15 years to more than 500 active artists. Fourth of Cityscape Art Series…I was working towards a commissioned piece but it did not materialize, instead, this piece called “A City In Flames” came to fruition. Fire symbolizes Creation, Destruction, Transformation. The crow symbolizes transformation and change. They are watchful creatures that have a sharp and powerful foresight.
